Tears of Glass is a jewelry studio and gallery that specializes in creating unique one of a kind jewelry pieces using local, hand combed beach glass. Inverness, Cape Breton is the picturesque backdrop for my studio and my life. Our community and the local beaches inspire my creations and fuels my imagination.

I pride myself in using 100% original, un- modified or tumbled Sea Glass, combined with top quality metals and materials to produce gorgeous jewelry. I am proud to say that I'm a member of The Cape Breton Centre for Craft and Design.

At the age of 15 I moved to Inverness, N.S. I was enamored with sea glass and was always collecting it. It was everywhere in my house, spilling over glass bowls and filling jars, but I never made anything with them.

A few ago my husband and I moved up North. I took my sea glass with me, and began wondering how many other Cape Bretoners were living away, accompanied by their sea glass.

After my son passed away, I returned home to heal. I walked the beaches, treading amongst and collecting beautiful pieces of sea glass along the way.

It was then that I began the next chapter in my life: creating jewelry out of the very thing that helped me heal after my great loss. Finding and making these treasures is something that brings me great joy, and helps me cope with all of challenges that life has to offer me.

I love wire wrapping sea glass in all different gauges and metals, adding gemstones, crystals and Czech glass to my designs.

It really does take a Village

The support that my friends, family and community have given me is one of the most valuable gifts that I have received.

From suggestions, photos, words of encouragement, signs, orders, and even bags of sea glass, the village has made me feel like anything is possible.
